His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has declared 2026 the Year of the Family, reaffirming the country’s deep commitment to building strong, connected, and resilient households.
The announcement came during a session on the National Family Growth Agenda 2031, held at the UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi. The initiative underscores the UAE’s focus on family unity, empathy, and cooperation as the pillars of a thriving society.
A national task force comprising more than 20 government entities has been established to bring the agenda to life. Their work will center on three main areas — policy development, behavioral insights, and reproductive health — to create a supportive environment for families nationwide.
The Year of the Family will highlight how strong family values shape the nation’s future, ensuring that compassion, togetherness, and shared responsibility continue to define the UAE’s social fabric for generations to come.
